WHAT IS TECHNICAL DIVING

For Divers who are ready to go beyond the constraints of depth, time, gas, equipment and training of recreational diving, there is the opportunity to enter the transitional zone of technical diving. Divers who wish to enter this zone between recreational and commercial diving must be adequately prepared with proper training, equipment and skills. These divers must be more focused, dedicated and educated, and have the proper attitude necessary to achieve optimum results.

Thousands of recreational divers have explored the reefs world-over to the recreational limits of 130 ft. Some have ventured beyond that limit. The depths that Technical Divers visit are less explored. Undiscovered and known shipwrecks, deep caves, and ocean depths are the realm of the technical diver. The desire to reach these unknown places is why divers have begun to seek more training and better equipment. The prudent dive operator will allow one to dive only to an individual's certified limit, making it necessary to obtain additional training.

TECHNICAL DIVING EQUIPMENT

Much of the normal dive gear can be used in Technical Diving, but additional redundant equipment is often needed, configured for lifesaving skills necessary in technical diving. Some equipment may need to be altered to accommodate different gas mixtures.

TECHNICAL DIVERS COME DIVE WITH US

TECHNICAL DIVE PRICES, mixed with recreational bubble blowers on boat, but with separate dive supervisor. Runtimes are limited to 75 min. unless prior arrangements are made. All dives will observe 1.4 PO2 max for bottom gas and 130ft END max, with decompression gas set for 1.6 PO2 max. All appropriate gas management rules will apply for individual and team safety.

**For Technical dives the price is for boat space only and requires rental of appropriate cylinders and/or equipment, purchase of appropriate bottom and decompression gasses (including supervisor's gasses to be split by divers), plus Technical Dive Supervisor's fee. Technical Dive Supervisor will dive in appropriate technical gear and gasses. Supervisor's Fee is as follows:
Depth to 130ft......$25/diver...2 diver minimum/6 max
Depth to 220ft......$50/diver...2 diver minimum/4 max
Depth to 330ft......$75/diver...2 diver minimum/4 max
Depth beyond 330ft by special quote **
